Training and delivery options for employers
Once staff training needs have been identified, a decision must be made on how these needs will be addressed. Recognised training programs are delivered as part of a training package which is a set of nationally endorsed standards and qualification for recognising and assessing people's skills in a specific industry or enterprise. However, training packages do not provide content, venue or duration of training, these specifications are decided by the employer in collaboration with a registered training organisation.
At the end of the training, if staff can demonstrate the required competencies in line with the guidelines set down in the relevant training package, they will be issued with a nationally recognised qualification.
There are a number of training options available for employers, that may involve the use of training packages:
- external training
- in-house training-option one
- in-house training-option two
- in-house training-option three
- the company may become a registered training organisation.
Information on training and delivery options for registered training organisations is available in another area of this site.
