Evaluation of applications

Any organisation wishing to be recognised as a group training organisation in Queensland must apply to the Training and Employment Board in this state.

The 'Application for recognition as a group training organisation in Queensland' form includes questions that require an applicant to demonstrate that the organisation meets the requirements of the Group Training Organisation Operational Manual.

Once submitted, the Queensland Department of Employment and Training will evaluate the application against the operational manual. The department will then make a recommendation to the Training and Employment Board as to whether or not recognition should be granted.

Once the department has evaluated the application, it will prepare a recommendation for the board to discuss at its next meeting. The board meets once every six weeks and the cut-off date for items to be added to the agenda is three weeks prior to the meeting date.

Taking into account the four weeks it will take to assess the application, and the three-week cut-off time for board meetings, the department recommends organisations submit applications at least seven weeks prior to a board meeting to ensure they are considered.
