Information Sessions for those Considering Becoming an RTO
Each month the department holds information sessions for those considering becoming a registered training organisation. Information sessions provide a basic overview of the national vocational education and training system and the role of a registered training organisation in delivering nationally recognised training. We encourage anyone considering registration to attend a Basic Information Session to gain and initial understanding about the vocational education and training system.
Workshop Topics
Becoming an RTO
This information session is designed for anyone thinking of becoming a registered training organisation (RTO), with little or no knowledge of the vocational education and training sector. This session provides a basic overview of the national vocational education and training system and the role of a registered training organisation in delivering nationally recognised training. The 3 hour session covers:

An overview of the Australian Quality Training Framework 2007 Essential Standards for Registration and the Vocational Education, Training and Employment Act 2000

Workshops for Existing RTOs
The department conducts regular workshops on various aspects of the 2007 Australian Quality Training Framework Essential Standards for Registration. Workshops provide RTOs with professional development on the requirements of the standards including how to maintain compliance and improve the quality of training and assessment.

Participants will gain knowledge of the AQTF 2007 and the audit process. The workshop will cover:

Implementing Continuous Improvement Systems
Continuous improvement is an integral element of the AQTF 2007 Essential Standards for Registration. This workshop will assist you by:

Considering who are your stakeholders

Explaining the ADRI cycle

Describing strategies for implementing continuous improvement in various sizes of organisations.

User Choice
This workshop will assist current and prospective tender holders understand the User Choice system and audit process. The 2 hour information session will cover:

AVETMISS Reporting Requirements
Reporting to the national data collection is required from all training organisations receiving public funding for the delivery of vocational education and training programs. The two and a half hour sessions are designed to give relevant RTOs more information on:
