Adding qualifications/courses to your scope of registration
To apply to amend your scope of registration to add qualifications, courses or units of competency, you are required to complete an RTO2 application form to amend scope of registration [PDF 114kb] and pay the application fee.
Preparing an application to amend scope of registration:
-
Decide which new qualifications, courses or units of competency you wish to deliver. A full list of nationally recognised training package qualifications and accredited courses can be found on the National Training Information Service site.
-
Prepare resources (human and physical, including learning materials and delivery and assessment strategies, together with student information) to meet the AQTF 2007 Essential Standards for Registered Training Organisations.
-
Your organisation may also choose to contact the relevant industry association to discuss content, suitability of the organisation's human and physical resources, access to learning materials, occupational health and safety issues, assessment instruments, licensing and legislative requirements, and training package issues.
Lodging your application:
-
Submit the RTO2 application form and application fee to:
Registration Services
Training Quality and Regulation
LMB 527, Brisbane 4001
Ensure that the application is signed by the person with legal responsibility for the registered training organisation.
-
When received, the department will conduct a risk assessment to determine how the application will be managed. Your application may be audited by either desk or site-based audit, with or without the assistance of technical advice. If an audit is required an auditor from the department will contact your organisation to discuss the details. In some circumstances your application will be recommended for approval without the conduct of an audit.
-
The time to process the application will vary depending on whether an audit activity is required. If an audit is required, a well prepared organisation should allow approximately three months for the process to be finalised. If an audit is not required the process will take approximately one month.
-
Do not start training delivery until your organisation has received formal written approval from the department. If you have questions concerning the progress of your application, contact Registration Services on 1300 369 935.
TAA04 Training Package applications:
Applications for TAA04 qualifications require specific evidence to be prepared and supplied with the application. The department has developed a guide and supplementary notes to assist organisations with applying for registration from the TAA training package.
