Delivering training outside Australia
Offshore training refers to the marketing, enrolment processes and delivery and/or assessment of programs/courses in a country other than Australia by an Australian-approved provider, where delivery includes a face-to-face component. The education and/or training activity may lead to an Australian qualification or may be a non-award course, but in either case an Australian approved-provider is associated with the education/training activity.
Registered training organisations delivering training offshore must comply with the requirements of the Australian Quality Training Framework. Overseas operations are subject to the same quality requirements as those in Australia.
Organisations registered in Queensland and wishing to deliver training offshore, can begin training or assessment offshore, but must notify the Training and Employment Recognition Council in Queensland (using the RTO3 form [DOC 238kb] ) that they are doing so within 21 days of commencing that training delivery.
For further information on delivering training offshore, view the Overseas delivery of Australian Qualifications Framework [PDF 65kb] policy.
