AVETMISS audits

The Australian Vocational Educational and Training Management Information Statistical Standard (AVETMISS) offers a nationally consistent standard for the collection, analysis and reporting of vocational education and training information throughout Australia.

This information is collected by the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER). NCVER is Australia 's principal provider of vocational education and training research and statistics. It undertakes a strategic program of research, and collects and provides vocational education and training research findings from Australian and international sources through a research database.

NCVER actively communicates this information to the state, territory and federal governments, industry, the vocational education and training sector and the community.

Reporting to the national data collection is required from all training organisations receiving public funding for the delivery of vocational education and training programs.

AVETMISS audits seek to validate vocational and educational training activity so that information such as student enrolments, student participation, student nominal hours and units of competency or module completions are accurately reported to NCVER. These audits also provide assistance to training providers to achieve more reliable reporting.
