Regulated professions or occupations have laws that require you to have an appropriate qualification, and be registered or licensed, in order to practice that profession or trade. It is illegal to practice these occupations if you are not licensed or registered with the appropriate board.
Self-regulated professions or occupations
Only some of the self-regulated professions or occupations require you to be registered or licensed before you may practice. Employment in these professions may be assisted by becoming a member of a professional association.
