Skills recognition
Have your skills, experience and overseas qualifications formally recognised in Australia. This may help you get a job, get a pay rise, gain entry to tertiary study or apply for registration or licensing in your chosen field.
Trade skills recognition
Trade skills recognition is a way of gaining formal recognition of your skills and work experience. If you have not completed an apprenticeship in Australia or you have gained trade skills overseas, you can have your skills, work experience and trade qualifications nationally recognised.
Overseas qualification recognition
Formal qualifications gained overseas and awarded by recognised educational institutions can be assessed for comparability to Australian educational standards. Download the Application for overseas qualifications assessment form [PDF 91kb].
Assessments provide employers and educational institutions with information on how overseas qualifications compare with Australian awards. Assessments provide an indication of the general educational comparability of a qualification. They are not comparisons between Australian institutions or professions and their overseas counterparts.
Paraprofessional / technical qualifications recognition
Paraprofessionals and technicians hold qualifications above trade level (Certificate III) and below a degree. They often assist professionals, have highly developed practical skills and understand complex theoretical knowledge.

Credit transfer
Credit transfer involves assessing a previously completed course or subject to see if it provides equivalent learning or competency outcomes to those required within your current course of study. This means that you may be able to gain credit for your previous study so you can complete your current qualification quicker.
