From school to higher education and work

There are support networks available to you as you move from a school environment to vocational education and training, to university, or straight into work.

Regional Disability Liaison Officers/Disability Coordination Officers

Regional Disability Liaison Officers (RDLOs) and Disability Coordination Officers (DCOs) are funded by the Australian government to help people with a disability to move from school to education and training and then into employment.

These officers help people with a disability by:

 Work options

Going straight into employment is another pathway that you can think about. There is a range of options from full-time to part-time and temporary positions so you should be able to work out a situation that suits your needs. You might study part-time and work part-time.

The main thing to remember is that people with a disability have the same rights to a fulfilling work life as every other Australian Citizen.
