Planning your future
Setting goals is very important to help you work out a future career path. Taking the time to plan and work out what choices there are and which one is right for you can make a big difference in building a successful career.
Having a plan to follow will increase your chances of career success. There are a number of sites to help young people, particularly school leavers, with developing plans to move into training or a job. Some of these are listed below:

The 'MyGuide' section links to activities to help you explore your career options.
Senior Education and Training plans (Queensland Studies Authority)
A Senior Education and Training (SET) plan acts as a road map to help you reach your learning goals during your final years at high school. All senior students can work with their school and parents or carers to look at their education, training and employment choices. This becomes an individual learning plan.
Individual Education Plans (Education Queensland)
Through your school, you may already be developing an Individual Education Plan and future career or transition plans. These plans are specially designed for students with a disability. You work with your parents or carers and professionals to figure out your personal learning goals. This planning is very valuable and can be included in your SET planning process. School Transition Officers may help students at Government schools with this process.
For more information contact the Disability Support Services Unit of Education Queensland, the Catholic Education Commission or Association of Independent Schools Queensland (AISQ).
