Funding and incentives for schools
The Department of Employment and Training provides funding for organisations and government agencies to run skills, training and employment programs as well as assist apprentices and trainees and training providers.
Advanced Manufacturing Plan
Under its 2004 election commitments, the Queensland Government is providing $8 million in new funding over three years to implement an Advanced Manufacturing Plan, which aims to further enhance the competitiveness of the state's manufacturing industry and establish Queensland as the leading state for value-added manufacturing growth in the nation.
User Choice
User Choice is a program funded by both the Commonwealth Government and state governments through which employees may undertake an apprenticeship or traineeship qualification. Employers, apprentices or trainees can negotiate with a registered training organisation of their choice as to when they will attend college, the qualification they would like to undertake, and any other aspect of the training to be delivered.

The Strategic Purchasing Program provides funding for the delivery of training that:
- addresses strategic priorities that are of economic and social importance to Queensland,
- increases participation for disadvantaged, marginalised and under-represented groups, and
- aligns with Queensland's training and employment priorities.
Some of the tenders administered under the program are:
