Work Placements
The Community Jobs Plan funds community and public sector organisations to employ long-term unemployed people and help them gain the confidence and experience to get back into the workforce.
Job Preparation Assistance
The Community Employment Assistance Program funds community organisations to provide long-term unemployed people with job preparation, job search assistance, and training.
First Start Program
The First Start Program aims to increase the number of additional full-time traineeships in the public and community sectors through the provision of wage subsidies. To ensure the program achieves the Government's desired outcomes for Queensland, it is imperative that these traineeships be additional to current proposed intake numbers and will not result in the displacement of existing workers.
Community Training Partnerships
The Community Literacy Program will aim to skill the most disadvantaged Queenslanders who have low levels of language, literacy and numeracy, through customised language, literacy and numeracy assistance.
Skills development programs
Adult Learners' Week
Adult Learners' Week (1-8 September) is an opportunity for adult learning to be celebrated throughout Queensland and Australia. Each year grants are made available to adult learning providers to host events and awarness-raising activities during the week. Awards are also presented to recognise the many fantastic Queensland contributors to adult learning.
Skill Centre Grants
The Queensland Department of Employment and Training administers funds on behalf of the Department of Education, Science and Training for the development of skill centres.
Strategic Purchasing Program
The Strategic Purchasing Program provides funding for the delivery of training that:
- addresses strategic priorities that are of economic and social importance to Queensland,
- increases participation for disadvantaged, marginalised and under-represented groups, and
- aligns with Queensland 's training and employment priorities.
Some of the tenders administered under the program are:
- Youth Access Program
- Correctional Centres Program
- Training for People with a Disability
- Creative Arts Training Initiative.

Get Set for Work
Get Set for Work funds community organisations to help young people aged 15-17 to rise above their history and get the skills and experience that employers want.
Youth Training Incentives
Youth Training Incentives provide public sector and private sector employers with cash incentives to increase school-based apprenticeship and traineeship positions.
