Funding and incentives for business and employers

The Department of Education, Training and the Arts and the Australian Government (through Australian Apprenticeships) provide financial incentives to assist apprentices, trainees, and their employers. In Queensland the Department of Employment and Industrial Relations mange employment programs designed to assist jobseekers, young persons entering the workforce, businesses and community organisations through the Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative.  To view these employment incentive programs, please visit the Department of Employment and Industrial Relations website.  

Apprenticeship & traineeship incentives managed by the Department of Education, Training and the Arts

Travel and accommodation allowance for apprentices and trainees
Apprentices and trainees who have to travel to attend courses in relation to their training program may be eligible for travel and accommodation allowance. This funding is provided for the individual apprentice or trainee.

The Vocational Education and Training Disability Support Service
The Vocational Education and Training Disability Support Service provides support for eligible students with a disability who are undertaking off-the-job training.
