Adult Learners' Week
Held annually from 1-8 September, Adult Learners' Week is a statewide and worldwide opportunity to celebrate and promote all types of adult learning. It offers organisations and community groups a framework in which to promote adult learning.
Funds are available annually to Queensland adult community educators to conduct activities that reflect the week's national focus and aims.
Advanced Manufacturing Plan
Under its 2004 election commitments, the Queensland Government is implementing an Advanced Manufacturing Plan, which aims to further enhance the competitiveness of the state's manufacturing industry and establish Queensland as the leading state for value-added manufacturing growth in the nation.
A key component of the Advanced Manufacturing Plan is the Workplace Excellence Program which provides $3.5 million in new funding for two initiatives.
First Start Program
Young Queenslanders now have more opportunities for apprenticeships and traineeships with state and local government employers.
Labour market programs are now managed by the Department of Employment and Industrial Relations' Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative following the machinery of government changes in August 2006.
Get Set for Work
Get Set for Work funds community organisations to help young people aged 15-17 to rise above their history and get the skills and experience that employers want.

Indigenous Employment Programs
Indigenous Employment Programs encourage Indigenous Queenslanders to participate in jobs and economic development in their local communities. Programs include the Indigenous Employment Program for Queensland Government Building and Construction Contracts (20% Policy), Indigenous Employment and Training Managers, Indigenous Employment and Training Support Officers and Indigenous Land Use Agreements.

Queenslanders Working Together (QWT)
The Queenslanders Working Together (QWT) program focuses on increasing access to accredited vocational education and training and a mix of other assistance measures for parental and mature age jobseekers, to increase their prospects of gaining employment and reduce their dependence on welfare.

Skill Centre Grants
The Queensland Department of Employment and Training administers funds on behalf of the Department of Education, Science and Training for the development of skill centres.
Strategic Purchasing Program
The Strategic Purchasing Program provides funding for the delivery of training that:
- addresses strategic priorities that are of economic and social importance to Queensland,
- increases participation for disadvantaged, marginalised and under-represented groups, and
- aligns with Queensland's training and employment priorities.

Travel and accommodation allowance for apprentices and trainees
Apprentices and trainees who have to travel to attend courses in relation to their training program may be eligible for travel and accommodation allowance.
User Choice
User Choice is a program funded by both the Commonwealth Government and state governments through which employees may undertake an apprenticeship or traineeship qualification. Employers, apprentices or trainees can negotiate with a registered training organisation of their choice as to when they will attend college, the qualification they would like to undertake, and any other aspect of the training to be delivered.
Vocational Education and Training Disability Support Service
The Vocational Education and Training Disability Support Service provides support for students with a disability who are undertaking off-the-job training funded by the Queensland Department of Employment and Training.
Worker Assistance Program
The Worker Assistance Program assists workers displaced, or about to be displaced, due to large scale and regional retrenchments, to find alternative employment.
Youth Training Incentives
Provides public sector and private sector employers with cash incentives to increase school-based apprenticeship and traineeship positions.
