Short courses

There are a number of short courses that can help you start or further your career. You can choose to do a short course which you can complete in just a few weeks or months - for example, you could enrol in a six-week computer program course to gain job-ready skills or a 10-week Certificate II in Business to brush up your business skills. Find a course.

Apart from short courses, there are a number of other options to gain skills quickly:

Learn only what you need to

You do not always need to gain a complete qualification to build a successful career. This is especially true for people who are already in the workforce or who have been in it before. Completing a component (that is, a module or unit) or two within a qualification is a quick and easy way to obtain the skills you need or upgrade the skills you already have.

You may also want to select components from a number of courses, ensuring that what you are studying is relevant to you and the career path you want to take.

A statement of attainment will be issued on successful completion of any components. You can use this statement for employment purposes or for entry or credit into further study. Find a course.

Adult and community education

Adult and community education programs offer non-accredited, fee-for-service, short courses to upgrade skills and cultivate creative talents on a part-time basis. Typically, courses run for a couple of hours a week over a six to eight week period. These short courses are designed to provide knowledge and skills across a wide range of topics including art, computers, wine appreciation, small business, languages and sport.

Adult education courses can also be used as pathways to further education and study. Find an Adult and community education course at TAFE.
