What your employer needs to do

When offering you an apprenticeship or traineeship, your employer has certain responsibilities. Your employer must:

in discussion with you, choose an Australian Apprenticeships Centre to assist you to complete the training contract
in discussion with you, choose a training provider
go through the induction information with the Australian Apprenticeships Centre, the training provider and yourself
sign the training contract
when the training contract has been completed and signed by all parties, send it to your Australian Apprenticeships Centre
work with the training provider to ensure that:
- the workplace has the range of work and facilities required for your training
- there is an acceptable number of tradespeople or qualified persons in the workplace
- you will be adequately supervised when you are in the workplace
work with you and the training provider to draw up your training plan.
