Costs of training

Your chosen training provider will advise you of the costs of training.

Some training providers are funded by the Queensland Government to provide training for all apprenticeships, and some traineeships, at a reduced cost.

You and your employer have the option of selecting a training provider that receives government funding to deliver your training, or you can choose to pay for training delivered by another training provider.

Your employer is not obliged to pay for your training. However, a large number of employers cover the costs of training as an investment in the workforce of their business and industry.

Regardless of the training provider chosen, you may have to pay some additional tuition or student fees (to cover administration, student services and some program costs). Your employer may choose to pay these fees on your behalf. When you sign-up, ask your training provider for information about these fees.

You may have to cover the costs of:

You may be eligible for further assistance from the government to cover some of these costs. To find out more, telephone the Queensland Department of Education, Trianing and the Arts on 1800 369 935.
