What you must do
As an apprentice or trainee, you have certain responsibilities. You must:
- observe the conditions of the relevant employment agreement or award
- attend and perform work as directed by your employer
- behave in a courteous and professional manner
- obey all lawful instructions
- work toward achieving the competencies of your training plan
- undertake training and assessment as required under the training plan
- keep your training record and produce the record when required
- acknowledge that all workplace instructions and any other work-related materials that come into your possession remain the property of your employer (except for tools if you are an apprentice, any safety equipment, the training record, and completion and qualification certificates)
- acknowledge that all information obtained from your employer and given in circumstances of confidence must be kept confidential and not used or disclosed to any person without the approval of your employer.
If you are under 18, the parent or guardian who signed your training contract must ensure that these responsibilities are met.
