Induction
At the commencement of your apprenticeship or traineeship, you will complete an induction with your training provider, your new apprenticeships centre, and your employer.
An induction is an introduction to the apprenticeship or traineeship, and outlines everything you will need to know about your training and working arrangements.
As part of your workplace induction, your employer should:
- outline your job description and your specific duties
- outline what the business does, and how your job fits into the overall picture
- discuss your start and finish times, when you can take breaks, and how you will record the time you have worked
- outline when and how you will be paid, and how much you will be paid
- discuss leave and other employment conditions and arrange your superannuation contributions
- take you on a tour of the workplace, introduce you to your work colleagues and show you lunch, toilet and other facilities
- provide you with access to uniforms or discuss dress standards
- go through workplace health and safety information.
