The Engineering, machinery and equipment sector is a significant industry area within manufacturing. The sector has two areas:
- engineering, which incorporates the manufacturing of iron and steel, casting and forging of iron and steel, manufacture of steel pipe and tube, fabrication of structural steel, and metal coating and finishing
- machinery and equipment, which incorporates the manufacturing of railway equipment, agricultural, mining and construction machinery, machine tools and parts and pumps and compressors
