Electronic equipment: manufacturing in Queensland

Queensland's electronic equipment manufacturing sector has experienced rapid growth over the last decade and the opportunities for young people to become part of this high-tech industry are numerous.

You can kick start your career in electronics by getting an apprenticeship or traineeship with an employer and become part of this dynamic industry.

The electronics industry includes companies that design, produce, service, install and distribute products and systems made from electronics and photonic (electromagnetic radiation energy) components that may contain embedded or loaded software to provide an operational device or network.

Australia's electronics industry is an important contributor to the Australian economy employing approximately 33,000 people directly. It has a turnover of $8.7 billion with exports totalling $4.9 billion, representing over three per cent of Australia's total exports.
